Waste Container Permits
Ordinance - 70-29 of the City Code
On July 9, 2013, the Bristol, Virginia City Council adopted a Waste Container Permit ordinance requiring all containers placed within the City of Bristol, Virginia for the collection of solid waste have a permit issued by the City of Bristol, Virginia, Public Works Department Solid Waste Division.
It shall be the responsibility of the owner of the container to keep an updated list of locations throughout the year, including size and quantity, as well as insure that any newly placed containers have the permit issued before placement.
The City reserves the right to inspect all containers for compliance before issuing any permits and to revoke any permits that have already been issued if containers are found to be out of compliance.

Permits are valid for a 12-month period (July 1 - June 30); after such time the owner(s) of the container must re-apply on an annual basis.
Permits for Weekly and 3-months are available for the placement of short-term containers where containers are not expected to become permanent.
The application along with the location and quantity of each container owned by your company shall be remitted along with payment prior to any permit issuance.

Containers placed solely for the purpose of recycling are exempt from this permit ordinance.

3-Month.....Cubic Yards.....1 - 5.99...........$60.00 per container
3-Month.....Cubic Yards.....6 - 7.99...........$90.00 per container
3-Month.....Cubic Yards.....8 or Larger....$120.00 per container
12-Month....Cubic Yards.....1 - 5.99........$150.00 per container
12-Month....Cubic Yards.....6 - 7.99........$225.00 per container
12-Month....Cubic Yards.....8 or Larger...$300.00 per container
