Code Enforcement/Property Maintenance
Mission
The Code Enforcement Office is composed of a trained officer who uses a hometown community approach and in doing so; creates strong bonds with our City of Bristol residents and visitors. The goal is to strengthen community outreach and gain voluntary compliance through education of City ordinances. Our Enforcement Office performs a variety of technical duties in support of the City's local code enforcement program. Bristol's Code Enforcement Officer monitors and enforces a variety of applicable ordinances, codes, and regulations related to zoning, land use, building codes, public nuisance, short and long term rentals, health and safety, blight, and other matters of public concern. They serve as a resource of information on City regulations to property owners, residents, businesses, the general public, and other City departments and divisions. In addition to responsibilities pertaining to Code Enforcement, the office identifies and solve problems, establishes goals, and defines strategies within the community.
