How you register is up to you. Virginia offers online voter registration, registration by mail (by downloading and printing a voter registration form, filling it out, and mailing it to your local election office), and registration in person. If you prefer, you can even request an application be sent to you by mail by calling the office.

How to Register

You can register to vote using any of the following methods:
  • Online using the Virginia citizen portal
  • By mail (Click here to view/download forms or call us at 276-645-7318 
  • At your local voter registration office 
  • At public libraries, Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, and certain state/local offices such as the Department of Health (VDH), Department of Social Services (DSS), Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (DBHDS), Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS), Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH), and the Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI)
