In order to preserve our small businesses, the City of Bristol invites you to apply for the City of Bristol Small Business Recovery Fund grant opportunity. The City is well aware of the negative impact COVID-19 has had on its businesses that provide the City with jobs, payroll income, and tax revenue. Through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act grant that the City received, the City will be able to share some of these funds within the small business community. These funds will be used to help small businesses recover some of their losses due to COVID-19, and to assist them in moving forward during the continued pandemic.
Existing businesses that are located within the City of Bristol Virginia’s City limits that can show they have been financially impacted by COVID-19, as well as meet other criteria as discussed in the attached application, are eligible to apply for a Recovery Grant up to $20,000 to recoup some of their recent financial losses and respond to the continuing crisis.
Grants must be used for purposes allowed under the federal CARES Act and must be for expenses incurred between March 1, 2020 and December 30, 2020. Please see the attached Application and Guidelines for permitted uses of grant funding as well as eligibility criteria. Applicants may only submit one application for each business. Eligible applications that did not receive funding in this initial round may be considered for future funding if available.
The City’s Industrial Development Authority (IDA) will serve as a Grant Review Committee, determining fair and equitable awards based upon eligibility, funding available, number of applications received, and demonstrated need.
