BRISTOL, Va. (WCYB) — There could be state fines against Bristol, Virginia for its landfill problems.
Residents living around the Bristol, Virginia landfill say the odor continues to compromise their quality of life.
"I can't really describe the smell...it smells like stinky trash or something," said John Hatcher, who lives close to the landfill.
Some residents have even started a Facebook page, called Bristol City-VA/TN Air Pollution, to document their concerns.
City Manager Randy Eads said he is working on a solution.
"I completely understand where they are coming from , I understand their frustration," he said. "I want everyone to know we've had two engineering teams working on this problem for the past 5 months now trying to find a resolution."
