Bristol, Virginia is extending for one week the deadline for the submission of bids to construct a Sidewall Odor Mitigation System at the quarry landfill beyond Tuesday, November 22. There has been limited interest in this project expressed by contractors and the extra time will be used to attract new bidders. The city is concerned that ongoing litigation and challenges to the process to resolve odor issues at the landfill are deterring contractors from a willingness to work with us on this project. The city is doing everything possible to move in an expeditious and environmentally sound manner and is optimistic that the additional time will support bidders.
