Find out about the proposed widening of Lee Highway (US 11),
Island Rd., and I-81 off ramps. The project will: expand 1000 ft.
of Lee Highway to six lanes between the southbound off ramp
and Island Rd.; widen 400 ft. of Island Rd.; and add an additional
lane to each off ramp. The project will also include raised
medians, new traffic signals and drainage improvements.
Review the tentative construction schedule, project plans,
brochure and environmental documentation depicting the major
location and design features at the Public Hearing or in the City
Engineer’s Office located at 300 Lee Street in Bristol, VA. A
Programmatic Categorical Exclusion prepared in accordance with
the National Environmental Policy Act and FHWA’s
Environmental Impact and Related Procedures (23 CFR 771) is
available for review.
