City Council Appointment Process:
1. All applications and supporting documents must be received by the City Clerk no later than 4:30 p.m. on June 25, 2021. Any applications received after that time will not be considered. The completed applications may be emailed to the City Clerk at email@example.com or mailed to: William Lamie, City Clerk, 300 Lee St., Bristol, VA 24201.
2. Applicants will be invited to a called meeting on June 29, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. for a public interview.
3. Council will discuss potential applicants in closed session on July 1, 2021, immediately after the organizational meeting. Applicants will be selected and invited for the closed session interview.
4. The newly appointed Council member will report to the Circuit Court Clerk's Office to take the oath of office no later than July 7, 2021, at 4:00 p.m.
