2023 HISTORIC PRESERVATION AWARDS
CITY OF BRISTOL, VIRGINIA
The Historic Preservation Awards Committee for the City of Bristol, Virginia, held outdoor ceremonies on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at each of the four awarded properties. The award program was established to recognize and honor property owners and developers for preservation and maintenance projects in the city's five historic districts (Euclid Avenue, Solar Hill, Virginia Hill, Bristol Downtown Commercial, & Bristol Warehouse) and Citywide. This is the tenth award year for the City of Bristol, Virginia.

CITYWIDE (Property is located outside a historic district within the Bristol, VA city limits.)
The New People's Bank was built in 1924. A piece of history has been preserved by restoring the exterior building inspired by a neighboring boutique hotel and the Stone Castle in Bristol, TN.
The Leonard home at 441 Euclid Avenue was built in 1926. This beautiful Tudor-Revival home, restored with stucco and a synthetic slate roof, serves as a stunning exhibition of the renowned and frequently visited historic neighborhood.
The Campbell home at 238 Oak Street was built in 1903. This 120-year-old hidden jewel adds beauty and unique charm to Bristol's oldest residential neighborhood. Restoration of the Victorian-style home included replacement of the windows, roof, and siding.
The Southern Churn was built circa. 1910. Restoration revealed the original brick facade by uncovering concrete panels. The restoration was to preserve the retail character of historic downtown Bristol.
